"Area Code" al parecer está escrita sobre y para Selena, y se puede ver en partes de la canción como: "You say I never been good for you" haciendo referencia a la canción de Selena: "Good for you".

Además, Nick ha dado favorito a estos dos tweets en Twitter, en los que le hablan sobre Selena.
